This was my first condenser microphone purchase. In the past I didn't have a need for high quality audio and opted for an inexpensive PC microphone. But as I wanted to do recording for songs, I decided it was time to buy and interface and mic. Price was a definite factor. As you can see, the AT2020 is over $100 less most of the other condenser mics. And I have no complaints as far as quality. I have heard recordings made with an AT3060 and can definitely tell the difference in quality, but I am in no way ready to pay that kind of money. All in all, this is a great choice for any musician looking to start recording on a budget.
